KOTA TINGGI: A Swiss participant in the World Amateurs Golf Championship currently taking place at the Els Club Ocean Course in Desaru near here, died of a heart attack this morning.
Marcel Hofman, 52, lost consciousness and collapsed on the green at 8.01am.
“The Swiss national, who was participating in a golf tournament, was rushed to the Bandar Penawar Clinic, near here, for emergency treatment.
“However, despite their best efforts, Hofman was pronounced dead by medical authorities at 9.05am,” Kota Tinggi police chief Superintendent Ashmon Bajah said when contacted.
He added that the case has been classified as ‘sudden death.’
