Tea Garden outlets to be rebranded as KuuVanCha

PASIR GUDANG: Kedai Makan Kebun Teh Sdn Bhd, the operator of the Tea Garden chain of restaurants, will undertake a rebranding exercise of its outlets.

It’s executive director, Tan Soo Hui, said the outlets would be known as KuuVanCha, which means tea garden in Chinese.

“Under the exercise, we will also refurbish all our outlets. We expect the exercise to take about two years to complete and have allocated up to RM3 million for it.”

She said the rebranding was necessary as the Tea Garden name was too generic.

“Some of our customers were confused with the name because they think we sell tea or own a tea plantation instead of a restaurant.”

Tan said new dishes would also be introduced.

She was speaking to the New Straits Times after the opening of the company’s latest outlet, which is the first to carry the KuuVanCha brand, in Taman Kota Masai here by Pasir Gudang municipal councillor Ng Seng Leong, who was representing state Women Development and Tourism Committee chairman Liaw Cai Tung.

There are 27 Tea Garden outlets in Malaysia, eight in Indonesia and one each in China and Australia.

Tan said the company planned to open three to five new outlets every year, including in overseas market like China,

“Our next outlet will be in Batu Pahat. We hope to open it sometime next year,” she said.
