Thai envoy to visit Sarawak

KUCHING: The Thai ambassador to Malaysia, Narong Sasitorn will lead a six-member delegation to Sarawak to further explore potentials in bilateral collaboration.

Asean-China Entrepreneurs Association first vice-president Michael Liong said during the two-day visit from this Wednesday, the delegation would look into ways to strengthen ties between Thailand and Malaysia, especially with Sarawak.

“This is the first working visit of the Thai ambassador (Sasitorn) to Kuching.

“The delegation members are keen to explore other potentials to tap, besides collaborations in the tourism and manufacturing sectors,” he said here today.

He said the Thai delegation would also make courtesy calls on Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg on Thursday.

They will also visit the Sarawak Cultural Village dubbed the “Living Museum” in Damai, near here.
