Selangor to announce solution on Sri Maha Mariamman temple issue, tomorrow

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government will announce a solution over the tussle involving the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple at USJ 25, tomorrow.

Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari said the outcome involving the problem involving the temple was decided by the state government today and it would be announced in a special press conference to be held at the State Assembly at 1pm, tomorrow.

“I have met Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Senator P Waytha Moorthy, Deputy Rural development Ministerb Sivarasa Rasiah, V Ganabatirau (State exco for Socio-economic Empowerment, Development and Caring Government Committee) and G Gunaraj (Sentosa state assemblyman).

“It was to discuss and find an appropriate solution to resolve the Sri Maha Mariamman issue.

“The state government is committed in adhering to the legal provisions, ensure public safety and find the appropriate solution for this issue,” he said in a statement today.

Amirudin also urged all quarters to remain cal and not to undermine public safety and security and trigger anxiety in areas surrounding the temple.

"Based on the outcome of the State Security Council meeting yesterday, the police have enhanced security controls to ensure public order," he said.

He adds that they were also informed of the latest developments of firemen Muhammad Adib Mohamad Kassim who is now receiving further treatment at the National Heart Institute.

"Let's continue to pray that God will aid in healing him," he said.
