IPOH: Penang state executive councillor Zairil Khir Johari has tied the knot with fellow DAP member Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud during a ceremony here today.
The wedding reception between the Tanjung Bungah assemblyman and Dyana, aged 36 and 31 respectively, was held at the Perak Royal Golf Club here.
The solemnization ceremony between Zairil, who is the Penang Public Works, Utilities and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman, and his newly-wed wife was held yesterday at the same venue.
The couple got engaged in March at a ceremony held at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel and Suites here.
Dyana in October confirmed to the press that she would be marrying Zairil after pictures of the couple’s wedding invitations were circulated in the social media.
More than 1,300 people including VIPs, party leaders, family members, relatives and friends attended the wedding reception of the DAP couple.
Among them included Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, his Selangor counterpart Amiruddin Shari, and DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang, who was Dyana former boss when she was the political secretary to the veteran Member of Parliament.
Also present was Umno party veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
