Mujahid: No instruction to ban religious speakers

IPOH: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof denied allegation on social media that the department has banned religious speakers to give their talks on television and radio.

Since yesterday, a list consisting of 10 religious speakers has gone viral on social media that they were banned from giving their talks beginning January next year. Among them were Ustaz Ahmad Dasuki, Datuk Ustaz Mohd Kazim Elias and Dr Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah.

Mujahid said his department has never come out with such statement but suggested that the religious speakers to understand the three main cores, Rahmatanlilalamin, Maqasid Syariah and Malaysia module.

“It means that whatever they deliver, the content must not against the three cores. But according to the list, we should not give any space. As far as I am concern, it (the list) is not from my department.

“If it’s gone viral, it’s just to spark provocation and doubt, I don’t know,” he said in a press conference at the Amanah National Convention held at Casuarina@Meru Hotel here today.

Mujahid also advised the religious speakers who wish to share their knowledge not to use religion to seek sustenance.
