JOHOR BARU: Firefighters had a mission of a different kind last night – they were summoned to rescue a cow that was trapped in a water treatment plant at Jalan Sukun, Kampung Pasir in Johor Baru.
Its owner had sought help from the Fire and Rescue Services Department at 10.40 pm yesterday upon discovering that the animal had fallen into the 1. 5 metre-deep pond.
Johor Baru Fire and Rescue Operations Commander Mohd Tarmizi Ishak said seven fire fighters rushed to the scene to rescue the 90 kilogramme cow.
“They managed to calm the restless cow after which they hoisted it with ropes. Some of the firefighters had to help lift it from below,” he said when
contacted by Bernama.
He said the rescue operation ended at 1.46 am today animal and the animal was handed over to its owner. - Bernama
