BELURAN: An octogenarian who had been missing since Sunday was found safe this morning.
Jamelia Ungung, 84, appeared weak when she was found by villagers and firemen in the forest about 2.5km from her house in Kampung Tandu Batu, near Pulau Jambongan, at about 11.08am.
It was learnt that the victim had told the search and rescue team that she had met a teenage boy while looking for leaves used to cook tapai nasi before she was lured into the jungle.
Beluran district fire and rescue chief Rastam Keladi said the search and rescue operation, which was launched on Monday, ended at 1140am.
