BALING: A senior citizen accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal of her Honda City, resulted in her car ramming into the office of Rubber Tappers and Management Association (Pergetah) here today.
In the 11.30am incident, the woman, in her 60s, was trying to park her car in front of the building to go to the pharmacy next to the Pergetah office. In the car with her were her two grandchildren aged four and six.
Baling Pergetah chairman Mohd Taufik Yaacob said there was no one in the office as it was the weekend.
“Good thing there was no one inside because the car really slammed into the office and caused damage to some equipment.
“The woman driver and her two grandchildren are unhurt and I already asked my staff to lodge a police report,” he said when contacted.
It was understood that the woman was going to buy medicine for her diabetic husband at the pharmacy before the incident happened.
