Popular online series 'Borneo Jungle Diaries' back with new host, more adventures

KOTA KINABALU: Scubazoo’s 'Borneo Jungle Diaries' is back with more adventures, showcasing the work and struggle of wildlife experts to save Sabah’s wildlife.

The second season of the popular online series will also feature local actress and student, Alexandra Alexander as its new host.

For seven episodes, she will be introducing Borneo's incredible wildlife and highlight the efforts made by these experts and scientists to save endangered animals such as proboscis monkey, tarsiers, pangolin, hornbill, clouded leopard, elephant and sun bear.

In a press statement, Sabah-based independent production company, Scubazoo, said the documentary series is set at Danau Girang Field Centre (DGFC) in Kinabatangan.

It said the series will take viewers 'up close and personal' with these experts who will be using the latest technology to learn, study and track the animals.

“Our team scaled the jungle canopy with hornbills, search the forest for elusive tarsiers at night and track the incredibly endangered Sunda pangolin - the most poached and trafficked animal on the planet,” it said.

Scubazoo launched the trailer of the second season of the series yesterday.

It said the seven action-packed online episodes will be aired weekly on Scubazoo.tv and SZtv’s Facebook page.

In collaboration with DGFC, the online documentary series is funded by Sime Darby Foundation.

The first season of the 'Borneo Jungle Diaries', which featured 10 episodes, was launched in 2017.
