Missing single mom in Jasin found safe

JASIN: After having gone missing for over 48 hours, a single mother was found safe near a mine in an Orang Asli village in Kampung Jus, here, this morning.

Rosiah Mansor, 52, was found at about 9.50am, some 2.5km from her home in Kampung Orang Asli Solok Terentang, here.

District police chief Dep Supt Arshad Abu said villagers who made the discovery alerted the Fire and Rescue Department's search and rescue (SAR) team as well as the state Civil Defence Force.

"Following that, the SAR team rushed to the location and found the victim in a slightly weakened state.

"The victim was then sent to the Jasin Hospital for a medical checkup," he said when contacted today.

It was previously reported that the victim went missing after she was last spotted lingering in her front yard.

Her 32-year-old son realised she was missing after finding her front door had been left open.

A SAR team involving 30 officers from the Fire and Rescue Department including its Water Rescue Team (PPDA), Special Tactical Operation Rescue Malaysia (STORM), Multi Skill Team (MUST) and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) was activated upon receiving a report of the missing woman.
