MB urges state government departments to speed up work

SEREMBAN: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun today chided government departments in the state for delaying implementation works of the state government’s plan in facilitating the rakyat in Negri Sembilan.

He said it was time for all government departments to change their attitude in carrying out their duties as promised.

“I have been observing the situation for quite some time, but it’s time for us to pay attention to the problems and grievances raised by the public.

“The public have this perception that the state government machinery is too slow in implementing the services and promises that have been offered.

“For example, we have prepared a budget of RM100 million for Negri Sembilan where there is a provision to help ease the burden of the people, but unfortunately I have been informed, up to this day, some allocations have yet to be distributed,” he said.

He said the situation had caused anger among the people and gave negative perceptions to his administration.

Additionally, delays in payments to state government contractors that have completed their jobs in accordance with the agreements had also left negative impacts on the Pakatan Harapan state government administration.

“We promise that payment will be made within 14 days after the work is completed according to the contract, but I have received report that payments have been delayed for months and this is unfair to the involved parties,” he said when met after launching the closing ceremony of the Negri Sembilan State Government Administration Officers 2019.

Aminuddin said the allocation provided in the state budget should be utilised to measure the effectiveness of the state’s financial planning on the people.

“The allocation is there, use it wisely to benefit the people. From there, we can also see the effectiveness of the budget that we have provided so we can improve in the future,” he said.
