Post-postal: IRB ends postal delivery of income tax return forms

PUTRAJAYA: Beginning this year, the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) will cease mailing income tax return forms (BNCPs) as part of efforts to encourage taxpayers to use its e-filing facility.

In a statement today, the IRB said that its decision to discontinue printing and mailing BNCPs is also in line with the government’s Go Green campaign, which is a move towards paperless digital processes which are environmentally-friendly.

“Forms (which will) no longer be printed are Form E (for non-company employers at the beginning of 2018); Forms BE, B, M, P, TP, TJ and TF for year of assessment of 2018; and Forms C1, PT, TA, TC and TR for the year of assessment of 2019,” it was quoted by Bernama as saying.

Non-company employers, taxpayers and tax agents still keen on submitting BNCPs in paper form can download them in PDF format from IRB’s official portal at www.hasil.gov.my

However, printed BNCP forms must comply with certain specifications – they must be A4-sized and printed with a black laser printer – or they will be considered unacceptable and returned to sender.
