KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun will be going on compulsory retirement from May, saying it’s time for him to do so.
Fuzi, who will be 60 on May 4, said people should not be speculating on his retirement as what had been reported was not true.
“We should know ourselves ….. when the time has come for us to go, we go ... no problem, so there’s no need to speculate.
“We have done our duties entrusted to us to the best of our ability,” he said.
Fuzi was speaking to reporters after officiating at the Federal Reserve Unit’s 63rd anniversary celebration and presentation of the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara to the recipients, here, today.
In jest the top cop told media practitioners might see him selling durians after his retirement.
He said Deputy IGP Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd and Narcotics CID director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh would also be retiring.
Fuzi was appointed as Inspector-General of Police on Sept 4, 2017 to replace Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
