Entrepreneur makes it big online

KUALA LANGAT: Entrepreneur Mazliana Mohein, 41, is reaping the benefits of online business with her cakes and pastries.

She was earning about RM400 a month when she began her business in 2008, but after going online, she has managed to increase sales to more than RM10,000 a month.

Mazlina said a friend introduced her to the various courses offered by the Kampung Kundang Internet Centre in Tanjong Sepat.

"The courses really helped me because I learned how to promote my products through Facebook and Instagram. I have had a Facebook account for a while, but I did not know how to use it to promote my products.

"Previously I thought having an online business was not very important. I only sold the products at certain events, but after attending the courses at the Internet centre, I found out about the wide impact of online marketing. My products are visible anywhere, anytime," she told reporters during the media’s visit to the Kampung Kundang Internet Centre, here, today.

The Internet centre - an initiative of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission - has been established since 2007, and is currently available in 870 locations throughout the country. Among the facilities provided are high-speed broadband internet services, as well as ICT and e-commerce courses. — Bernama
