KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan palace has revoked the title of "Datuk" given to Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.
The Baling MP was given the award Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia (SJMK) which carries the title "Datuk".
Kelantan state secretary Datuk Nazran Muhammad said Abdul Azeez was informed of the matter through a letter dated April 2, 2019.
He said as such, Abdul Azeez was no longer able to use the title from that date.
"Any authority or matters pertaining to the award cannot be used," Nazran said in a statement, adding that Abdul Azeez was asked to return the award to the Kelantan palace in Kota Bharu as soon as possible.
The former Tabung Haji (TH) chairman was awarded the SJMK by the Sultan of Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V in November 2016.
