Bukit Aman announces new CID, CCID directors

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal police has announced the names of senior officers who will assume the roles of directors of two key departments in Bukit Aman.

Inspector-General of Police secretariat corporate communications head Datuk Asmawati Ahmad said current Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (intelligence/operations) Datuk Huzir Mohamed will be promoted as the department’s director.

Huzir takes over from Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd, who retired in March.

Meanwhile, Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Zakaria Ahmad will take over as Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director.

The department’s previous director Datuk Mazlan Mansor was promoted as deputy inspector-general of police on Monday.

Asmawati said in a statement that the appointments take effect on June 17.

With the appointments of CID and CCID directors, only two other departments within Bukit Aman were left without directors.

However, announcements as to who will head the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department and Special Branch are expected to be made some time this week.
