KUALA LUMPUR: A Singaporean man died in his car early Monday morning, shortly after he completed a 336 kilometre drive from a location in Johor.
The man had undertaken the three-hour-and-15-minute journey on Sunday night as a favour for a friend who needed to be dropped off at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), AsiaOne reported.
Without sufficiently resting, the 62-year-old man almost immediately began his return trip to Johor – but not before making a quick pit stop at a petrol station near KLIA.
According to a witness who spoke to the China Press, upon returning from the restroom, the man experienced convulsions in his car, before going motionless.
Police rushed to the scene after being alerted to the incident and discovered the man, who was pronounced dead at the site.
The man’s autopsy report revealed that he had died of a heart attack.
A video clip of about a dozen police officers attempting to remove the man’s remains from his sedan has gone viral on social media.
