Motorcyclist decapitated in Silk Highway crash

KAJANG: A motorcyclist died after he was decapitated in a freak accident at KM24 of the Kajang SILK Highway early this morning.

Selangor Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Superintendent Azman Shari'at said the victim, Samsuri Adam, 30, was on his way home to Pulau Carey from Hulu Langat when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a divider at 5.25am.

“We believe the victim may have lost control of his motorcycle and hit the divider on the left side of the road.

“As a result of the collision, the victim was thrown off the machine and dragged for about 30 metres along the metal railing. His body and head were found about 10 metres apart,” he said in a statement today.

Azman said the victim’s remains were sent to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.

“The motorcycle, a red Yamaha 125Z, has been taken to Kajang police headquarters for Puspakom inspection.

“We are still trying to locate his next-of-kin,” he added.

Azman said the crash was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
