Sg Langat water treatment system trips; supply cuts expected for Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: Several areas in the Klang Valley will experience water supply disruption after the mechanical filtration system at the Sungai Langat water treatment facility tripped, yesterday.

According to Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, the trip occurred after heavy rain upstream caused the accumulation of a large volume of rubbish at the intake, which clogged up the system and led to the trip.

“We are working to resolve the issue and minimise the impact of supply interruption to affected customers.

“Air Selangor is also in the midst of raising the reservoir levels and pressure in the distribution system to stabilise and restore water supply to affected customers.
