NSTP MyRumah Property Showcase 2019 kicks off at Aeon Mall Bandaraya Melaka

MELAKA: The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) MyRumah Property Showcase 2019 made its second stop as part of its nationwide tour today, this time in the historic city of Melaka.

The Melaka showcase, held at Aeon Mall Bandaraya Melaka, Taman Lagenda, from 10am to 10pm, ends on Sunday.

The event, supported by the Housing and Local Government Ministry.

Media Prima Bhd news and editorial operations executive director Mustapha Kamil Mohd Janor said the event would be showcasing 12 housing developments in Melaka and Johor, totaling 2,653 units with a gross development value of RM681 million.

“Since its introduction in 2016, MyRumah has been working with 69 local housing developers and 19 non-property developers, utilising the 4E concept, which combines elements of exhibition, experience, education and environment,” he said.

“I urge the public to visit the MyRumah 2019 showcase in Melaka, where they can seek in-depth explanations from real estate experts and speakers who will be on hand to assist them.”

State Industry, Trade and Investment Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen said the state government welcomed NSTP’s efforts to organise the MyRumah showcase, which focused on helping the middle income (M40) group and the bottom 40 (B40) to purchase homes.

Melaka Housing Board’s (LPM) Abd Majid Mohd Nasir said Malaysians, especially those in the M40 group, should capitalise on the showcase to scope affordable homes that were on offer.

“The LPM counter at the MyRumah showcase has a comprehensive list of affordable homes in Melaka, which begin from RM180,000.

“LPM staff are on hand to assist visitors with any queries for advice to help them secure their dream homes,” he said.

SPNB Aspirasi (SPNB) project manager Mohamad Ismail Basiron said this was the second time that the company was participating in the event.

He said the company was showcasing two new housing projects in Taman Sutera Wangi Phase 3, Batu Berendam and Taman Kelubi Idaman, Jasin.

“For the Taman Sutera Wangi Phase 3, we are offering two types of homes, which are double-storey semi-detached houses as well as single-storey bungalows, which begin from RM580,000 and RM650,000, respectively.

“Taman Kelubi Idaman, meanwhile, offers double-storey terraces and townhouses, each starting from RM250,000 and RM160,000, respectively,” he said.

The second leg of the MyRumah 2019 showcase is targeted at house buyers and property investors from the southern region, offering homes from as low as RM180,000 to RM679,000.

The event also features a lineup of notable real estate speakers who would be sharing tips on house-buying and property investment.

Visitors stand a chance to win a Nissan Almera in the lucky draw.

Besides LPM and SPNB, the other major developers participating in the event are Bukit Pelali (Astaka Padu Sdn Bhd), Faithview Group Development Sdn Bhd, Handal Group, National Housing Department (JPN) and Scientex Heights Sdn Bhd.

Also participating is Takaful Ikhlas.

Also present at the event today were NSTP strategic commercial communications general manager Jeannie Leong, NSTP advertisement general manager Roche Chew and NSTP regional advertisement head S. Linggaraj.
