KUALA LUMPUR: Those who take part in the Pertubuhan Legasi Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (Legasi) Run 2019 stand a chance to win a trip to London.
Legasi chairman Datuk Jefridin Atan said the four-day, three-night holiday package comprised a return ticket, accomodation, one-day tour of the city and transport to and from the airport.
“We have been looking for sponsorship for the lucky draw winners and this was the best prize offer that we received.
“Legasi is expected to secure more sponsors for our winners in the future,” he said in a statement.
The inaugural run organised by Legasi will be held at Taman Botani Putrajaya on Oct 20.
The run is divided into two categories: 3km with a participation fee of RM55 and 10km run with a fee of RM65. For a family package of parents and two children aged 12 and below, the fee is RM100.
The top three runners in each category will receive trophies and RM800, RM600 and RM400, respectively.
Jefridin said Legasi Run 2019 aimed to promote healthy living, the spirit of generosity, unity and family bonding.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is expected to give away the prizes.
She will also be presenting a donation from the run to Tabung Bersamamu, Media Prima — New Straits Times Press Humanitarian Fund and the National Autism Society of Malaysia.
The fifth prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is the founder and patron of Legasi, is expected to attend the event.
Legasi is inviting corporate sponsors, agencies and individuals to provide sponsorships in cash or kind. These can be in the form of T-shirt printing, medals, food and beverages, registration costs, cash donations or lucky draw prizes.
The closing date for registration is Sept 10. Participation is limited to 3,000 people. All participants will receive a T-shirt, medal, bib and stand a chance to win a lucky draw prize.
