4 girls, driver hurt in school van crash

SEREMBAN: Four girls were injured when their school van crashed into an electric pole in Jalan Mantau Indah 3, here, today.

Seremban police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Said Ibrahim said the 23-year-old driver was also slightly injured in the incident at 1.30pm.

“Initial investigations found the school van was on its way to send the four pupils, aged 6 to 9, back home in Taman Mantau Indah, before the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“The van swerved to the left side of the road before it crashed into the pole.

“Two pupils were injured on their foreheads, while the other two suffered injuries on their legs,” he said in a statement today.

Said added the case was being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Earlier today, pictures of the incident were circulated on various WhatsApp groups, showing some of the pupils crying over their injuries.
