Search continues for missing six-year-old girl in Bintulu

BINTULU: Sarawak police have intensified efforts to locate the six-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Kampung Baru Laut here last month.

State deputy police commissioner Datuk Dev Kumar said the investigation had entered its third week, but the whereabouts of Puteri Nurardiana Damia Qaisara Abdullah are still unknown.

“The search and rescue (SAR) efforts by the relevant agencies had been halted since two weeks ago, but the police are continuing their investigation and hope the girl will be found soon,” he said in a statement here today.

“I had visited the family of the victims and expressed our concern about the disappearance. We are committed to finding the missing girl,” he added.

On Sept 28, the parents realised that their daughter went missing from home at 3.11am. Initial investigations suggested that the victim might have fallen into the Kemena River.
