KUALA KANGSAR: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, presented state awards and medals today to 241 people in conjunction with his 63rd birthday celebration.
Heading the list of recipients was Head of News and Production at Bernama TV, DR Arul Rajoo, who was conferred the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP).
The Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) award, meanwhile, went to two state lawn bowlers – Nur Fidrah Noh and Syairah Mat Isa.
Other awards conferred by the Sultan today were Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini or PCM (seven recipients); Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak or PMP (23); Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini or ACM (nine); Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak or AMP (45); Pingat Pekerti Terpilih or PPT (51); and Pingat Jasa Kebaktian or PJK (11).
Finally, eight people were bestowed the medal for long service, or PLP.
The investiture ceremony at Istana Iskandariah here was attended by Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim; Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris Shah; Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah; and Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and his wife, Datin Seri Dr Nomee Ashilin Mohd Radzi and members of the state executive council.
