Army officers honoured at Lok Kawi

KOTA KINABALU: Two senior officers of the Malaysian Army who are retiring next year were honoured during an appreciation parade at the 6th Royal Artillery Regiment field in Lok Kawi Camp here yesterday.

The appreciation parade for Major General Datuk Zulkapri Rahamat and Major General Datuk Mohd Anuar Rijaludin was conducted with full military honours, and was witnessed by Army chief General Tan Sri Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi.

Zulkapri will end his 41 years’ service with the army on March 20, next year.

He was the former general of Task Force 450, now known as the 5th Division.

Zulkapri was an officer with the Royal Malay Regiment, which was commissioned in July 1978.

He began his career as a platoon leader for the 19th Batallion in Kedah.

His last position before retiring was chief of staff at the Joint Forces Headquarters.

Meanwhile, Anuar will end his 42-year stint in the army on March 25, next year.

He began his career as an officer in January 1978 and began his service as a platoon leader at the 24th Battalion in Terengganu.

His last position was army reserve division assistant commander.
