Kelantan police collect RM865,000 in traffic summonses in 3 days

KOTA BARU: State police have collected more than RM865,000 in summonses paid by about 7,000 traffic offenders.

State Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Superintendent Zamri Mohd Rawi said the collection was made within three days during a recent summons discount drive by the state police between Jan 6 and 8.

He said the 7,000 traffic offenders were fined by police for various offences between last year and a few years earlier.

“They were fined for offences such as driving without licences and driving exceeding the speed limit and others.

“During the three days, offenders were given a 50 discount to pay their summonses,” he said.

Zamri added that the offences were committed at several locations state-wide and mostly in towns.
