Morning traffic slow-moving on major highways in Peninsular Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow is slow on several major expressways in Peninsular Malaysia this morning, as city folk take advantage of the long Chinese New Year weekend to return to their hometowns.

According to a spokesperson for the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), traffic heading towards east coast states is sluggish from the Middle Ring Road (MRR2) to the Gombak Toll Plaza up to Genting Sempah.

“However, traffic flow is smooth on the East Coast Expressway (LPT) 1 and 2,” he added.

A spokesperson for PLUS Malaysia Berhad said traffic is slow moving from Slim River to Sungkai, as well as from Nilai to the Seremban R&R, with a marked increase in the number of vehicles on the North South Expressway (NSE).
