Touch 'n Go RFID Tags to cost RM35 soon

KUALA LUMPUR: After investing in a million RFID tags for road users in its pilot project, Touch 'n Go today announced that the RFID tags would soon be sold at RM35.

The public pilot project lasted 18 months and spanned across 22 highways.

Road users were given the tags for free during the programme.

The RFID tags would be made available for purchase at all fitment centres nationwide, Touch 'n Go said in a statement today.

On the next phase of the RFID Tags, Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd CEO Syahrunizam Samsudin said it was now the time for them to move forward and continue to expand the use of RFID technology with their partners across the mobility ecosystem.

"This includes fuelling, parking, retail drive-thrus," he said.

In conjunction with the launch of the sale of Touch 'n Go RFID Tags, there would also be a promotion in which 40 lucky winners would walk away with the Ultimate RFID Toll Pass worth RM2,500 each in the Touch 'n Go e-Wallet.
