TNB celebrates Year of the Rat with charity homes

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) today celebrated the Year of the Rat together with 2,000 people, including 50 senior citizens and the disabled.

Held at TNB’s multipurpose hall at their sports complex, here, TNB feted guests with a lion dance performance by the Kun Seng Keng Lion and Dragon Dance group from Muar.

At the event, five charity homes received donations from TNB. The five charity homes were Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Sosial Da Ci, Cheras; Pertubuhan Penganut Bodhiksetra Vihara Kuala Lumpur; Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Sosial Kim Loo Ting (KL), Setapak; Damai Chempaka Meditation Society, Petaling Jaya; and Joy To The World Community Services, Puchong.

The donations were presented by Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Ministry (MESTECC) secretary-general Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, TNB chairman Tan Sri Leo Moggie, TNB president Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, and TNB board of directors member Gee Siew Yoong and Ong Ai Lin.

Also present were MESTECC deputy secretary-general Noor Afifah Abdul Razak, Energy Commission chairman Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Hasan and chief executive officer Abdul Razib Dawood, and Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) chairman Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali.
