IWK implements preventive measures against Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd has implemented proactive measures to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

This includes:

- Temporary closure of its payment and inquiry counter in its headquarters, customer service centres nationwide, UTC and IWK Certifying Agencies from March 20 to 31. Customers can get in touch with IWK through its customer service line at 03-2083 2828 (8am – 9pm) or email care@iwk.com.my for any general inquiries or IWK bill;

- Additionally, customers can WhatsApp these numbers for IWK’s operational services - 012-5396172, 019-3034172, 019-3009973, and, 013-3951200 (desludging service) ;

- Disinfecting its headquarters office on March 19, followed by some of its sewage treatment plant offices to clean the office environment. Health screening was also carried out for all employees on duty.

- Social distancing measures as advised by the Health. This is carried out, especially in confined spaces such as the elevator;

- Coordinated working schedule among employees to ensure minimal involvement and deployment during the movement control order; and

- Preparation of sanitation items, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, face masks are provided to employees.

In a statement it also encouraged its customers to make payment of sewerage service bills via IWK's official website, Indah Water mobile application, internet banking and JomPAY.

It also said there was no known case of any IWK employee being infected with Covid-19.

The maintenance of all 6,952 IWK Sewage Treatment Plants and 1,236 IWK network pumping stations continue as usual with a 50 per cent reduction in IWK workforce, it said.
