Lembah Pantai job centre to assist in finding employment during MCO period

KUALA LUMPUR: The Lembah Pantai job centre began its operations today to facilitate employment opportunities for constituents affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lembah Pantai member of parliament Fahmi Fadzil said the centre would relook into the new employment system or the environment under the "new norms" following the outbreak.

He said the pandemic had taken a toll on the employment sector such as the hotel industry and communications sector that saw significant retrenchment.

As of now, the centre would only be operational online due to the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO).

"The centre will assist the Lembah Pantai residents in looking for career and business opportunities around the constituency and its neighbouring area.

"There will be programmes such as workshops, seminars, discussions and more which will increase one's employability," he said in a Facebook posting today.

The centre would also research policies relating to employment that would be later addressed at the Parliament

The centre can be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PusatKerjaLP/.

Among the available jobs listed are e-bazaar vendors, food delivery riders and Pos Malaysia riders with a commission of up to RM6,000.
