KUALA LUMPUR: School bus operators are allowed to transport factory workers to cover their losses incurred during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the operators could discuss the matter with companies interested to use their services.
"Factory buses are facing problems transporting workers, as they were operating half of their (usual) capacity, with some having to make more rounds (due to the social distancing requirement in the vehicles).
"For the time being, factories may use school buses to ferry their workers, which could be temporarily converted to factory buses to help ease the burden faced by the school bus operators," the senior minister told a Press conference in Putrajaya today.
