SIMPANG AMPAT: Two sisters suffered burns after they were trapped inside their house which caught fire in Bandar Tasek Mutiara this afternoon.
Fortunately for the two, aged 33 and 39, firefighters arrived on time and pulled them to safety.
Sungai Bakap Fire and Rescue Department operation officer Azhar Samsudin said they arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call at about 4.20pm and found the main room of the single-storey terrace house ablaze.
"We also found two victims trapped inside the house and immediately rescued them. Both suffered burns on various parts of their bodies.
"They have been sent to the hospital for treatment," he said.
The blaze was brought under control at 4.35pm. Investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
