Unscheduled water disruption to hit Klang Valley today

KUALA LUMPUR: Syarikat Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) stopped the operation of its Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (LRA) at 7.15am this morning, causing the residents of Klang Valley to be hit by an unscheduled water disruption.

Its head of corporate communication, Elina Baseri said the LRA's operation was called to a halt after the water management company discovered that their Sungai Selangor water sources were polluted.

"We have stopped our Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 water treatment this morning, at around 9am.

"At the moment, we are working with Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) closely in addressing and attending to this issue," she said in a statement, today.

"This sudden halt in operations will cause the residents of Klang Valley to be hit with an unscheduled water disruption starting at approximately 10am today.

"The locations include Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat. The list of locations will be updated from time to time on all our communication platforms, including our Instagram and Twitter accounts and Air Selangor mobile applications.

"Consumers can also visit our website at www.airselangor.com for more information," she said.

Consumers are advised to use their water frugally.
