KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Information chief Shahril Hamdan today revealed he had been tested positive for Covid-19 after taking part in the campaign for the Sabah election.
Shahril took to his social media accounts to share on the outcome of the test result which he took upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur.
Although he did not display any symptoms associated to the virus such as fever and coughing, Shahril said he took the test as a precautionary measures since there was a surge in cases with the emergence of new Covid-19 clusters in Sabah.
"Covid+. No obvious symptoms melainkan penat sikit (No obvious symptoms apart from slight fatigue).
"Decided to test yesterday in KL for prudence after case spikes as I had been campaigning in Sabah.
"Just received a call and will be taken in today," he shared on Twitter.
The Umno Youth deputy chief also expressed his apology to those he had come in close contact with.
"Am sorry for the inconvenience this will cause people who came into contact."
