Covid-19: Sime Darby Property confirms one case, HQ closed

KUALA LUMPUR: An employee at Sime Darby Property (Group) headquarters here has been tested positive for Covid-19.

This was confirmed by the conglomerate through its statement issued today.

It said the employee was tested positive on Oct 6 and was currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Following that, it said the headquarters would be temporarily closed for deep cleaning and disinfection exercises.

"The said employee was last present in office on Oct 2. As a preventive measure, employees based at the corporate headquarters will be working from home and the premises will remain closed until all safety and regulatory requirements are met.

"The Group is undertaking a detailed contact tracing exercise to identify employees who have been in close contact with the affected individual.

"They are advised to immediately self quarantine and seek medical assistance if they display any symptoms or feel unwell," it said.

It said it has been continously enforcing preventive measures since March to ensure the safety and well-being of all workers and its stakeholders.

It also said the premises were sanitised daily and hand sanitisers were provided on each floor including the lobby.

"Every worker and visitor is required to undergo temperature checks upon entering and everyone has to log in using the MySejahtera application.

"The health and safety of our employees and stakeholders are paramount, and we will continue to monitor the situation vigilantly," it said.

It also added its business operations were not affected by this incident.
