KUALA LUMPUR: A staff from one of the premises located at level 7 of the Sogo shopping mall here tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.
A statement issued by Sogo on its social media account today said the staff, who works at the All IT Hypermarket store, did not come to work since Oct 12 and was still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
"Due to this latest development, we are taking immediate and necessary measures to prevent any potential risks including ordering the premises to close immediately, and the floor, for disinfecting operations today.
"Level 7 will only be open to visitors tomorrow except for the All IT Hypermarket store which will be closed until further notice," it said.
It also said the management conducted contact tracing of the staff through the QR code entry scan.
"All the workers from the said store have undergone the Covid-19 swab test and told to place themselves under self-quarantine.
"We will continue with the preventive measures as the safety of the workers as well as customers are our main priority," it said.
It said other levels of the shopping mall were operating as usual.
It added customers who required assistance on the latest information could get them via its social media, mobile application and official website.
