SEMPORNA: Bugaya assemblyman Manis Muka Mohd Darah died at the Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu today. She was 65.
It is understood that she was admitted to the hospital last night and warded in the intensive care unit following kidney complications.
Her daughter, Fara Deeba Sabardin had yesterday asked for family and friends to pray for her mother's recovery.
Her passing was confirmed by Parti Warisan Sabah vice president Datuk Jaujan Sambakong.
"Her remains are being prepared for the 'solat jenazah' at the Masjid Bandaraya, Kota Kinabalu, before being taken back to Semporna for burial today," he said.
Manis Muka, who was also the Semporna Warisan women's chief, recently defended her seat in a seven-cornered fight during the state election.
She had been active in politics since 1985 and also held the post of Semporna Umno women's chief before joining Warisan.
