CMCO in Melaka, Terengganu ends tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Melaka and Terengganu is set to end tomorrow.

This was announced by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a press conference today who said these states have shown a drop in active Covid-19 cases.

"In Melaka, until Nov 5, there were only 61 positive cases recorded there.

"And until Nov 18, there were only 48 active cases recorded and following risk assessment by the Health Ministry, they notified that the state's Covid-19 situation is under control.

"The special meeting decided to end the CMCO period in the entire state of Melaka on Nov 21," he said.

He added that Terengganu would also be released from the CMCO effective tomorrow, as there were only 19 active cases in the state as of Nov 17.

"Since Nov 4, there were 230 cumulative positive cases in Terengganu.

"Until Nov 17, there were only 19 active cases in the entire state and the Covid-19 situation is under control.

"There are also no sporadic cases recorded in the last 14 days. Following a risk assessment by the Health Ministry, we agreed to lift the CMCO in Terengganu on Nov 21," he said, adding the state must now follow the Recovery MCO (RMCO) standard operating procedures (SOP) as implemented nationwide.
