KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is allowing more social, economic and religious activities to take place despite the state is still under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) until Dec 20.
State Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the gradual opening of activities includes prayers conducted at mosques and suraus.
"The number of people for the (congregational) five-time prayers has to be one third of the capacity at the mosques and surau.
"Meanwhile, for Friday prayers, it has to be based on the area of the premises in allowing for physical distancing," he said in a statement, adding that children aged below 10 were not allowed to be present at the mosque.
Masidi said other activities and programmes at the premises should not exceed more than an hour.
As for religious classes and solemnisation ceremonies, only 20 people or less can take part at any one time and food has to be served as takeaway.
Apart from that, traditional health and complementary health facilities have also been given the green light to operate.
Masidi said these activities will have to follow the Health sector standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the National Security Council.
"Among them includes wearing personal protective equipment while dealing with clients. Each session is limited for an hour."
Today, Sabah recorded 271 cases with four deaths.
