KUALA LUMPUR: The Finance Ministry (MOF) today announced that the car sales tax exemption, which is ending on Dec 31, has been extended for six months to June 30, 2021.
In a statement, the MOF said that the 100 per cent sales tax exemption would be for completely knocked-down (CKD) passenger vehicles, including MPVs and SUVs.
"There will be a 50 per cent sales tax exemption on completely built-up (CBU) passenger vehicles, including new and used MPVs and SUVs," it said.
The government had earlier announced a sales tax exemption for the purchase of new vehicles from June 15 to Dec 31, 2020. - BERNAMA
