Jeffrey's assistant minister tests positive for Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU: Tandek assemblyman from Parti Bersatu Sabah Hendrus Anding, has been confirmed positive for Covid-19.

Hendrus, who is assistant minister to State Agriculture and Fishery Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, said he was found positive in his hometown in Kota Marudu.

He is currently being quarantined at a low-risk treatment centre in Kota Belud.

"I'm feeling fine and I have no symptoms whatsoever. No treatment is required for me - I feel healthy," said Hendrus, as quoted in a portal.

The PBS assistant secretary-general said the Health Ministry would discharge him the following week.

Apart from Hendrus, Jeffrey who is Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president and his vice president Datuk Robert Tawik are positive for Covid-19.

Sabah today recorded 409 Covid-19 cases, where 61.4 per cent were from close contacts screening.

The bed capacity at Covid-19 hospitals in the state is now at 38.51 per cent. There are 1,001 beds at Covid-19 hospitals, with 5,590 beds at low-risk treatment centres.
