No interstate travel, MICE and social events during CMCO this time [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Interstate travel, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) as well as social events are prohibited during the two-week Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said these were the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that differed from the previous CMCO.

He said official and unofficial government and private sector events, social events such as kenduri, weddings, engagement receptions, doa selamat, tahlil, anniversary celebrations, birthday celebration, reunions and retreats are not allowed.

However, non-contact sports, recreational activities as well as group activities of no more than 10 individuals involving walking, jogging and cycling are allowed provided they comply with the SOP, he said.

He said these SOP apply in Kedah, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and three zones in Sarawak, namely Kuching, Sibu and Miri from Jan 13 to Jan 26.

Meanwhile, he said the only SOP that differs in Recovery MCO (RMCO) states, namely Perlis and the majority of Sarawak, is the ban on interstate travel.
