Health Ministry: Dr Ali's death not due to fatigue

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry today confirmed the death of Dr Ali Noor Hassan, who had worked as the ministry's healthcare frontliner.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham told Harian Metro that Dr Ali had died from brain aneurysm, and not due to fatigue as earlier claimed.

He died late Monday night.

On his Facebook page today, Dr Noor Hisham explained that Dr Ali had tested negative for Covid-19, and had been admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital since early December last year, and had received several treatments for his illness.

"To respect the late Dr Ali and his family, the ministry urges all to not make speculations about his case," he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham, in expressing his condolences, said the late Dr Ali was a medical officer that was well-liked by his colleagues, patients and surrounding community.

"Let us together pray for the late Dr Ali. May Allah bless his soul and may he be placed among the pious. Al-Fatihah."

The Skuad Pengurusan Jenazah Malaysia (SPJM) had shared the news of Dr Ali's death through its Facebook page late Tuesday night.

It said Dr Ali was also a dakwah service member, and had participated in tabligh group gatherings in Beaufort, Sabah.

SPJM said during each large tabligh gathering in Sabah, Dr Ali would fly in from Selangor and volunteer as a medical officer for the participants.

"SPJM has lost yet another committed member after the death of Kedah SPJM chairman last Friday.

"May Allah accept all his good deeds and forgive his past sins. Our condolences to his family," it added.

In the post, SPJM also uploaded a picture of Dr Ali, which was taken by a colleague before he fell ill.
