KUALA LUMPUR: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at the Sungai Udang Prison and its staff quarters in Melaka Tengah will end tomorrow as scheduled.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Health Ministry had conducted 1,701 screening tests, with 388 testing positive.

"The ministry confirmed that the remaining active cases in the locality has shown a downtrend and there were no more transmissions among detainees and staff," he said in a statement today.

The EMCO at Kampung Sungai Maong in Kuching and Taman Univista in Kota Samarahan would also end tomorrow, he added.

Ismail Sabri said 427 screening tests were conducted in Kampung Sungai Maong where 40 positive cases were detected.

The ministry, he said, had confirmed that the last case was reported on Feb 23 and there were no more samples awaiting results.

In Taman Univista, the ministry conducted 700 screening tests where 57 infections were recorded.

"The ministry confirmed that the remaining active cases in this locality had dropped and four new infections were last reported on Feb 23," said Ismail Sabri.

He added that decisions to end the EMCO at the three areas were based on risk assessment with various agencies in the Movement Control Order Technical Committee.
