Four new clusters today, three in workplaces

KUALA LUMPUR: Four new Covid-19 clusters were detected today, three of which involved workplaces.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the three workplace clusters were the Cyber 72; Jalan i-Park Tiga; and, Jalan Loke Yew clusters which were detected in Johor and Kuala Lumpur.

"The Cyber 72 cluster was detected in Kulai, Johor, involving a factory in Jalan Cyber 5, Senai, Kulai. A total of 18 new infections were recorded as of today.

"Another cluster in Johor was the Jalan i-Park Tiga, involving factory workers at Jalan i-Park 1/3, Bandar Indahpura, Kulai. Eight new cases were recorded from the cluster as of today.

"The Jalan Loke Yew cluster in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur involved a targeted screening test for workers at a supermarket situated in Jalan Loke Yew, Cheras. A total of 11 cases were recorded out of 16 screened in the cluster," he said.

Dr Noor Hisham said the community cluster, Bukit Bayas, involved areas in Kuala Terengganu, Johor Baru, and Petaling in Selangor.

"The index case (Case-305877) tested positive following a symptomatic screening on March 3.

"The name of the cluster refers to the locality of the new cases were reported at Kampung Bukit Bayas, Kuala Terengganu.

"As of today, 139 individuals were screened and 23 tested positive in the cluster," he said.
