TELUK INTAN: Five houses in Padang Tembak here were gutted in a fire incident last night.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said they received a distress call at 9.47pm.
He said a team of firemen from Teluk Intan, assisted by a team from Hutan Melintang and volunteer firemen from Teluk Intan, Langkap and Batu 12 rushed to the scene.
"Upon arrival, the fire had engulfed three two-storey B-class houses; while two other B-class houses and C-class houses were about 15 and 18 per cent destroyed.
"A Yamaha LC 135 motorcycle was also destroyed in the fire," he said adding that no casualties were reported.
"The team managed to put out the fire by 12.30am," he said adding that the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
