ICU bed capacity at UiTM Puncak Alam Hospital increased

SHAH ALAM: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Puncak Alam Hospital has increased the capacity of its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) wards and beds to cater to the rising number of Covid-19 patients in the country.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, who made a two-hour working visit to the hospital today, witnessed the preparations of the ICU wards and logistic needs at the facility.

The move was part of the Health Ministry's initiatives to repurpose the government's healthcare facility as well as to embark on collaborations with university teaching hospitals such as UiTM Puncak Alam Hospital.

During his working visit, Dr Adham also inspected facilities in the hospital to ensure that all are at optimal capacity.

He also discussed the possibility of embarking on a strategic cooperation with UiTM to enhance the country's Covid-19 response through a "whole-of-government" approach.
