54 people in Klang issued compounds for loitering at Raja Muda Nala Bridge

KLANG: Fifty-four people were each issued a compound of RM2,000 for gathering and loitering after jogging at the Raja Muda Nala Bridge here yesterday.

Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said the authorities received a complaint from members of the public, and an enforcement team from the district police headquarters was despatched to the location at 6pm yesterday.

"When they arrived at the location, police found members of the public parking their vehicles near a blockade and a place where people jog. People were loitering on the Raja Muda Nala Bridge, which had been closed since June 1 due to the Movement Control Order.

"The individuals who were issued compounds were aged between 17 and 40. Investigations revealed that these individuals comprised those who live nearby and elsewhere," he said in a statement today.

A 28-second video, which had gone viral on WhatsApp last night, showed several police vehicles and members of the public at the Raja Muda Nala Bridge.
